Yamaha Pacifica Review

What is the difference between the Yamaha Pacifica 112 and 012?

I want to learn to play the electric guitar and I read on review sites that the Yamaha Pacifica 012 is a great guitar for beginners, but the 112 is just as good. But what is the difference between the 012 model and the 112 model?
Thanks for the help :)

They’re Yamaha’s answer to the Squier Strat – but are a lot better quality for the money (IMO)

The 012 is the “economy” model with standard grade hardware and pickups — and different wood for the body (Agathis) — The 112j is the next step up with an Alder body and slightly better hardware – and the 112v has the alder body plus better whammy system and Seymour Duncan (alnico) pickups with a coil tap switch for the bridge humbucker.

Any of them are very good…but for the few bucks extra a 112v is probably worth the price. The Agathis vs. Alder body is a non-issue IMO. If you can hear a difference your ears are better than mine. But going up to better pickups (112v) really will make a difference. I carried a cheap Yamaha for years as my spare guitar – loved it. For the money – hard to beat.
