Guitar Chords Question?
I have the dvd of robbn ford “Art Of Blues Rythm” and I just finished it but i was wondering how i could apply this what i leared into jamming or writing songs. Also it blew my face off to see chords that stumble me that i am amost there with learnin them but don’t quite get them like E flat 11 or A Flat 13 or raise nine. Could someone explain please? thanks
E flat 11 would just be a E Major with a Flat 11th note added.
Since Chord descriptions are based off the piano, they deal with two octaves. So there are 7 tones in a Key, they just add the 2nd ocatve to bring it up to 14 tones. So the 8th tone would just be the 1st tone plus an octave.
So E Major is – E, G#, B. The 11th note is A. The flat 11th is G#. So E, G#, B, G# (higher octave).
As to applying what you learned…..you need to learn some more music theory for the advanced chords, but also just jam basic progressions that you learned.
