http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=sNzEQ8hG1zA
from :30 to :40 seconds. i know the frets by heart, but it keeps making a dull sound when i play them. im 13, i started guitar 3 years ago, quit, and started up again 4 months ago. im pretty good, but this one just throws me off. any advice? ps, i have a baby martin (http://img3.musiciansfriend.com/dbase/pics/products/regular/7/2/5/229725.jpg)(little frets yay) and a fender(http://www.drumcityguitarland.com/drumcitygl/stores/1/images/Fender/Fender%C2%AE%20USA%20Artist%20Series%20Eric%20Clapton%20Stratocaster%C2%AE%20Maple%20neck%20Candy%20Green%206-String%20Electric%20Guitar.jpg). and if there are any easy songs on the guitar, id like you to shout them out now! (i like old and new rock. pretty mch rock of any kind (no screamish songs. and yea i know dream on has some old school screamo in the end!)
sorry the links didnt work. im not even gonna try to fix em. and when it says frets yay! it did say tiny frets yay but it got cut off
Ya know… it’s kinda weird but I remember being in the exact same situation with Dream On when I was younger. I knew what frets to play and everything, but I coudn’t get the notes to ring true. It sounded all muffled and I seemed to “run out of steam” when doing the hammer-ons and pull-offs.
I think it gets easier to play when your callouses harden and fingers get stronger. Because one day after not playing it for years, I just remembered it and tried it and it came out great.
Make sure to pick at the right times too. I realized I was trying too hard to make it work with just my left hand.
