Guitar Playing Trouble?
I’m an intermediate at guitar, and I’m having trouble doing songs where your on…well let me lay it out for you.
I tune my guitar to drop C (Used for metal mostly)
So heres the layout CGCFAD
For instance, I’ll be on the Second C-String and playing a riff, but in-between the riff notes, I have to go to the first C-string to play a blank chord. It’s really frustrating because I have to keep flying back over and over to get the zero’s on the first C-string and play the guitar riff on the other C-string.
Any advice?
Simple: Practice!!
If I understand you, you’re playing a riff on the 4th string & have to do a pedal note off the 6th (the thickest string) but the 5th string is in the way?
You can either muffle the 5th with either a free finger on your left hand or use the fleshy part of your right hand as it picks. Either action should deaden the 5th to the point that if you’re, more than likely, playing heavily distorted guitar the 5th won’t come across very cleanly.
That said, you still have to practice going between the 4th string riff & the pedal note on the 6th string if you want to do it cleanly.
