Do all Gibson ES335 guitars have a solid center block?
I own a 1971 Gibson ES335 in Cherry with Serial Number 176135. Looking throgh the ‘f’ holes you can see that it doesn’t have a solid center block running through the middle of the guitar from the neck joint to the tail pin. It does however have a soild block from the tail pin to just behind the rear pickup (the bridge is fastened to this block) and another one from the neck joint to just behind the front pickup. There is an empty space inside between the two pickups so the guitar is more like a hollow body (like a 330?).
Did Gibson manufacture 335′s like this or am I the owner of a forgery?
