Gibson Les Paul or Fender Stratocaster?
I’m looking to get my first electric guitar and I think these are the two I’ve narrowed it down to. My friend has an Epiphone Les Paul and I’ve heard a lot of people like the Gibson Les Paul sound a lot. But I also like the Stratocaster. I just need other opinions on which one is best and why you think that.
If it helps, I really like Green Day and other bands such as The Ramones, AC/DC, Blink-182, and a little bit of The Clash. Thank You!!!

Well the Les Paul and Stratocaster are VERY different guitars. Not only do they sound drastically different, but they FEEL different too.
The best advice I can give you is to go to the guitar store and play a bunch of different guitars. Even if you don’t play guitar at all, just sit down with a few and see how they feel in your hands, resting on your leg, or maybe borrow a strap and see how it feels standing up.
I’m sure if you tell salesman that you’re looking for your first electric and need help finding one for you they’ll be glad to help you, especially if you’re planning on making your first purchase a genuine Gibson or Fender (instead of an Epiphone or Squier)
