Buying a guitar 1.5k, need a bit of advice?
Hey guys, I live in Australia and I’m thinking of buying a pretty decent acoustic guitar since I want to move on from my old acoustic.
Anyway, I live in Australia and I went to a store to check out some of these guitars.
I managed to narrow my choice down to a few guitars.
-Epiphone Black Beauty
-Epiphone Les Paul Custom
-Gibson USA Les Paul Junior
-Epiphone SG (I don’t know which one, perhaps G-400)
I can get all of these with an amp for about 1.5k AUD
(I heard there were slight differences between SG and Les Paul in the sound, but I’m not sure what)
So basically if anyone can give me some advice on quality, pricing, and basically anything that might alter my decision I will be very grateful

The SG is a neck heavy guitar and a pain tin the *** because you have to hold the neck up with your fingering hand sort of. Gets frustrated after a while. Not a good buy.
The LP have a fatter, bluesy, rock sound compared to any SG. The SG neck pickup has a darker sound sort as like the Tommy Iomi Black Sabbath days.
I tried the Epiphone Black Beauty. Very nice clean sound. as for the LP Junior, I have an old 1953 LP junior (original) and the sound is wickkkkkkkkkkkkkeeedd. It has natural sustain. Now. I haven’t tried the newer model. Mine is a 1953 and doubt and never bothered to try the 2009 models. Far stretch of time and am sure it will not sound close as to my old 1969 LP and 1953 Junior. Age improves the sound just like a violin.
