which bass would you get?
which bass is preferrable for a beginner on bass, but not to guitars:

note that the gretsch is a short scale bass. i really like its style and i want to know if the short scale makes that big of a difference, as my hands are normal sized they can go well with ethier bass, but does the short scale have that big of a difference in sound?
Of those two, I’d go for the squier. While Gretsch typically makes better instruments, that bass you’re looking at is a junior and will not adequately prepare you for a better bass later on. To me, you’re learning, so it’s okay to start small, but getting the gretsch is like buying a tricycle when you want a bicycle with the training wheels.
