Does anyone know how to install new tail lights on a 2007 toyota corolla without using new bulbs?
I was looking at a couple of different new tail lights for my corolla (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/03-07-TOYOTA-COROLLA-ALTEZZA-TAIL-LIGHTS-TYC-04-05-06_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33716QQihZ006QQitemZ160157192607QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW) and I was wondering if anyone knew how install these. Is it possible to simple take off the light covers and put new ones on are am I going to have to work with the bulbs and wiring and stuff?
These aren’t just lenses – they are the whole light assembly. To change the lights, the whole light assembly must come out – they are sealed at the factory to stop water from getting in and shorting out your lights.
Just unplug the wires (with the lights still attached) from inside the trunk, and unbolt the lights (also from the inside.) Then reverse the proceedure with the new lights. The bulbs usually don’t even have to be removed from the wires – just from the lights themselves. The wiring and bulbs will probably fit right into the new lights without making changes to either.
