Classical Guitars ?
I need to buy a Classical guitar (nylon string for those not in the know) and I’m interested in other peoples opinions in what brands are the best. I recently only played classical guitar, but am taking classical lessons, and i know electrical guitar brands but not classical brands. Thanks Alot!!!
True, the best classical guitars are made by pricey boutique makers–hand made and carefully so. You probably don’t want to get into one of those just yet–just as a student violinist wouldn’t go for a strad just yet…
In acoustic guitars, there will be a wide variance in quality even between two guitars of the same brand and model–one guitar may have gotten luckier in wood grain and glue drying vectors and such random stuff.
The best advice I ever heard was this: go to a music store and try out several, pick a few finalists that fit your budget, feel good, and sound OK to you. Then have a friend or sales clerk play each of your finalists while you avert your eyes; the one that sounds best when your eyes are closed is the one you want.
Given that, there are many brands that might work for you–Yamaha often turns out a nice one. Happy shopping!
