When you search for items on the Internet maybe using Google you will get quite different results depending on what search terms you use. Free guitar sheet music can be found on different types of sites. Here is a few examples:
If you are using the search term “classical guitar” you will come up with a lot of sites with information about guitarists, lessons, events and more. You will also find free classical music scores on some of these sites.
It is not always very obvious where to search for free music scores. You will for example find them on sites offering guitar tips. The most common search terms for finding these sites are “guitar lessons” and “learn to play guitar”. Usually the most common free sheet music on these sites are very easy music scores for beginners.

There are a lot of sites on the net providing sheet music both for the beginner and advanced guitarist. It is impossible to list them all! When you are searching for these sites you will find many sites with both good quality sheet music and others that are not really offering what they promise. Guitarist.com has been around a long time yet it’s still one of the most popular classical guitar references on the Web. You will find MIDI files for the works of Carcassi and Sor and free sheet music arrangements of compositions by Bach, Satie, Holst, Carcassi, and others.
As previously mentioned you will find an immense amount of sites when you search for free guitar sheet music using the search terms in this article and others you will find out. You will also experience that many sites with fine guitar scores are far down on the search result pages.
The reason for this can be that the sites are new and therefore are not ranked as high. Another reason is that the sites have not optimized the pages for the search terms people use when they search for music notes and tablature in spite of good quality content.
