What gauge should i buy for acoustic strings and electric strings on guitar?
i have an electric esp ax-50 and i dont know what brand and size i should get.
also, i dont know what brand and size (gauge) i should get on classical strings for my acoustic guitar.
PLease Help Me!!!
For Electrics…I’d say use a light gauge to be safe…light gauges are usually ( .009 or .010) depending on which ELECTRIC guitar string brand you are using.
I’m using Gibson Vintage strings right now….they are pretty good and keep the intonation (tuning) pretty stable…they are like $7 a set. I’m going to buy the Gibson “Brite Wires” next and see how those are.
For Acoustics strings…same thing use the Lights
(.009 or .010 gauge ) I only use Dean Markley “Alchemys” for these….they are $13 a pack and are the best Acoustic strings I’ve used so far….excellent tone and stay in tune for a lot longer too. So, I’m very loyal to them big time!
There are other brands to try too like : Elixirs, D’addario XLs, DRs, GHS Boomers, Dean “Blue Steels” too so dont be afraid to try those out too….
