help with hyperbola !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
Find the locus of the point of intersection of trangents drawn at the extremities of a normal chord of the hyperbola x2/a2 – y2/b2 = 1 .
If I understand the question correctly, the “normal chord” is the line segment which is perpendicular to both sides of the hyperbola.
The normal is always perpendicular to the tangent, so the two tangents would have to be parallel to each other. The intersection of two parallel lines is the empty set.
